Kempten-Durach Airfield (ICAO: EDMK), Germany’s highest-altitude public airfield, celebrated its 90th anniversary from July 4–6, 2025, on the picturesque grounds southwest of Kempten. Since opening in 1935, the airfield has been a stage for rich aviation history — from the filming of “Quax” to hosting Germany’s first electric charging station for airplanes.

Exhibition of My Art +++ Where Art Meets Aviation +++
I had the honor to participate with 10 paintings of modern and historic sailplanes and motor aircraft. I’m especially proud that three of the aircraft I painted — the Udet 12 Flamingo, Klemm 25, and Junkers A50 (UL replica) — were present live and admired on site. It was truly a wonderful feeling to see my artwork side by side with these flying classics.
Visitor reactions were overwhelmingly positive: warm conversations, appreciative feedback, and genuine excitement about the blend of art and technology. As a thank-you, I gave out high-quality postcards featuring my “Udet 12” painting — a little keepsake that many happily accepted.
A huge, heartfelt thank you goes to the team at Kempten-Durach Airfield (EDMK) for organizing and inviting me, to the visitors for the inspiring conversations, and to all the volunteers — you made this celebration unforgettable!
